Google changes their algorithm to bulldoze the link farms.

In recent news google is taking a very proactive approach in defeating shady Search Engine Optimization techniques, it's specifically targeting 'content farms' also known as 'link farms'. Having your Web SIte as part of these content farms will not only stop counting as an increase, but Google is actively lowering your rank. In other words they take your caculated rank, not counting the link farms, then subtract from that rank, based on the content farms.

What google has done is leveled the playing field even further, making it more realistic for sites such as yours to obtain a good rank using general good Search Engine Optimization techniques. There is no better time then now to do these optimizations, in a year the shady guys will figure out a way around the newest changes, the longer your site has sat in a higher rank when that happens the better.
